Producer-director Anurag Kashyap is best known for his outspoken nature. Whether social media or any other public platform, Anurag Kashyap is seen voicing his opinion. Currently, due to this, many times he also has to face trolling. Anurag Kashyap has so far been openly questioning many works of the Modi government. He has now given his response to the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB). Anurag Kashyap, who arrived at an event, said that ‘this is not going to stop. We voted for them. This is what we should get and this will continue. I have separated myself from all this. I do not support anything.”

Director Anurag Kashyap further said that ‘This is a process in which you either exist or leave them. We have to understand that this can happen to anyone. Only then we will develop as a society. Everyone’s opinion about the Citizenship Amendment Bill is divided across the country. The Citizenship Amendment Bill has been criticized by many organizations and politicians. About 700 celebrities, including its film artists, writers, teachers, and former judges have written to the government, appealing for the withdrawal of the bill.

In the list of those who wrote letters to the Government of India, many celebrities including Javed Akhtar, Naseeruddin Shah, Nandita Das, Aparna Sen, historian Romila Thapar, writer Amitav Ghosh, Anand Patwardhan, social activist Yogendra Yadav, Teesta Setalvad, Harsh Mander and Aruna Rai In a letter to the central government, he has protested against the Citizenship Amendment Bill. All these celebrities wrote in the letter- ‘Cultural and educational class people criticize the bill as discriminatory, divisive and unconstitutional. Like NRC, this too will be a pain for the people of the country. This will harm the Indian Republic, so we appeal to the government to withdraw this bill.
