Flood-affected families receive notices to defend their citizenship! Assam Floods and Citizenship Crisis
21, Jul 2020 | CJP Team
In a shocking case of institutional apathy, 5 people from Dhalpur village in Darrang district of Assam have been sent notices via Whatsapp to defend their citizenship before the Foreigners’ Tribunal(FT). Amidst the raging floods in Assam coupled with the Covid scare, as entire villages have been submerged under water and crops destroyed, such acts display the lack of compassion of the authorities towards the flood-affected victims.
